Kolkata’s tram system is one of the city’s most iconic heritage symbols and the oldest operating tram system
in India. Through this special Heritage Tram Joy Ride, students will have the opportunity to experience the
charm of old Kolkata while learning about the city’s transport history and urban heritage.
Today, many young people have had very little exposure to this historic mode of transport. This experience
aims to reconnect the younger generation with an important part of Kolkata’s heritage while encouraging
experiential learning beyond the classroom.
