Meet at Dibrugarh and begin your scenic journey towards Eastern Arunachal Pradesh. Drive through the towns and villages of Assam and cross the Bhupen Hazarika Setu (Dhola–Sadiya Bridge) over the Lohit River. Arrive in Roing and check in to your stay. If time permits, enjoy a relaxed evening walk and take in the fresh mountain air.

Begin the journey towards Anini after breakfast. Drive through the beautiful landscapes of Hunli and Etalin, crossing the spectacular Mayodia Pass at approximately 2,655 metres. Depending on the season and weather, the pass may offer views of snow-covered landscapes. The route is scenic throughout, with several opportunities for photography and short breaks. Arrive in Anini by evening and check in to a simple, cosy homestay. Relax and enjoy the peaceful surroundings.

Head towards Acheso and Chigu Camp, one of the most scenic areas of the Dibang Valley. Enjoy the spectacular mountain landscapes and take the day at a relaxed pace, with time to explore the surroundings and appreciate the remote beauty of Eastern Arunachal Pradesh.

After a relaxed breakfast, visit the Anini Viewpoint for panoramic views of the town and surrounding mountains. Continue towards the beautiful Mathun Valley, known for its rolling green hills, open landscapes and peaceful surroundings. The evening is free to explore Anini town on foot, browse the local shops and experience the quiet rhythm of life in this remote mountain settlement.

Begin the return journey towards Roing after breakfast, retracing the scenic route through the Upper and Lower Dibang Valley. Cross Mayodia Pass once again and enjoy the changing landscapes along the way. Before reaching Roing, stop near the SD Dhaba for a relaxed break and, subject to timing and weather, enjoy the beautiful sunset views.

Today offers a change of pace with a closer look at village life and the landscapes around Dambuk. Explore Kapang Village and trek towards its highest point, passing through picturesque orange orchards and enjoying panoramic views of the surrounding countryside. Continue to the RIWATCH Museum to discover more about the region’s indigenous communities and cultural heritage. Later, visit Sally Lake for a relaxed evening walk. End the day with a visit to the local market in Roing, where traditional produce and local items can be found.

After breakfast, drive back to Dibrugarh, marking the end of your Anini journey. With the remote landscapes, mountain roads, village experiences and quiet moments of the Dibang Valley, the journey comes to an end with memories of one of Arunachal Pradesh’s lesser-explored corners.
