Welcome to the Gateway of Northeast India! Upon arrival at Guwahati Airport or Railway Station, meet our Elegant Tours representative and begin your scenic drive to Bhalukpong.
On arrival, check in to your hotel and relax.
Later, explore local sites including the historic Bhalukpong Fort, built in the 10th century — a true testament to the region’s ancient glory.
Overnight Stay: Bhalukpong
After breakfast, embark on a picturesque drive to Dirang.
En route, visit the renowned Tipi Orchid Center, home to over 500 orchid species spread across 112.8 acres.
On reaching Dirang, visit the historic Dirang Dzong and experience the rich traditions at a Monpa Tribal Village — known for their bamboo-and-mud homes built to withstand the cold.
Overnight Stay: Dirang
Today’s journey is filled with dramatic Himalayan beauty as you travel from Dirang to Tawang.
Cross the iconic Sela Pass (13,700 ft) and pause to admire Sela Lake, one of the highest altitude lakes in India.
Stop by the emotional Jaswant Garh War Memorial, dedicated to a brave soldier of the 1962 Indo-China War.
Also visit Nuranang Falls (Jang Falls), one of the most stunning waterfalls in the region.
Overnight Stay: Tawang
After breakfast, explore the cultural and spiritual gems of Tawang:
Tawang Monastery – the largest monastery in India and the second largest in Asia, perched with panoramic views of the Tawang Valley.
Urgelling Monastery – the birthplace of the Sixth Dalai Lama
Ani Gompa – a nunnery run by female monks
Later, visit the emotionally stirring Tawang War Memorial
Overnight Stay: Tawang
Begin early for a full-day excursion to the Indo-China border:
Bumla Pass – located at 15,200 ft, this historic pass is a high-altitude wonder (subject to permit & weather)
Madhuri Lake (Sangestar Tso) – a glacial lake made famous by Bollywood
Pangateng Tso Lake – a hidden gem surrounded by snow-draped peaks
Note: This day’s excursion is subject to weather conditions and permits.
Overnight Stay: Tawang
Post breakfast, drive to Bomdila, a tranquil town known for its Tibetan influences.
En route, stop at the Nag Temple and Gontse Rabgyaling Monastery
On arrival, explore the Craft Centre, operated by local women artisans — known for handcrafted woolens, bamboo artifacts, and traditional textiles
Visit the District Museum to get insights into the region's rich tribal culture
Overnight Stay: Bomdila
After breakfast, check out and drive to Kaziranga National Park, Assam – a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Relax or enjoy the serene ambiance of Assam’s tea gardens
If time permits, explore the local village or shop for local crafts
Overnight Stay: Kaziranga
Start your day with an early morning Elephant Safari (5:30 AM – 6:30 AM) in the western range of Kaziranga to spot the famous One-Horned Rhinoceros.
After breakfast, enjoy a thrilling Jeep Safari inside the park
Return to hotel, check out and drive to Guwahati Airport / Railway Station for your onward journey
